Jantzen on Flickr<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last week, David Alpert <a href=\"http:\/\/greatergreaterwashington.org\/post.cgi?id=3274\">put together<\/a> a nice Google map interface showing off DDOT&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/newsroom.dc.gov\/show.aspx\/agency\/ddot\/section\/21\/release\/16579\/year\/2009\">Transportation Improvement Plan<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Of particular interest to me is the new traffic circle\/square\/oval\/rhombus at the intersection of Pennsylvania, Potomac, and 14th St SE.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve delved into the plans for the intersection previously (<a href=\"http:\/\/cityblock.wordpress.com\/2009\/07\/05\/a-new-square-for-potomac-ave\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/cityblock.wordpress.com\/2009\/07\/07\/a-new-square-for-potomac-ave-part-ii\/\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The takeaway is that $1.45 million are allocated for the project in the upcoming Fiscal Year 2010, in addition to $200,000 allocated for the current fiscal year &#8211; money that likely paid for the initial studies referenced in the previous posts.<\/p>\n<p>Now, if someone at DDOT can convince WMATA to add a <a href=\"http:\/\/cityblock.wordpress.com\/2009\/07\/08\/canopies\/\">nice canopy<\/a> to the station, maybe the escalators won&#8217;t be out of service so often&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, David Alpert put together a nice Google map interface showing off DDOT&#8217;s Transportation Improvement Plan.\u00a0\u00a0 Of particular interest to me is the new traffic circle\/square\/oval\/rhombus at the intersection of Pennsylvania, Potomac, and 14th St SE.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve delved into the plans for the intersection previously (here and here).
