Photo by the author.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This signage is from the platform pylon near the base of the escalators at Federal Center SW.<\/p>\n<p>Via Twitter, Dan Malouff (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/beyonddc\" target=\"_blank\">@BeyondDC<\/a>) took note of the new (SV) bullets on one of the narrow pylons used for Metro&#8217;s side platform stations, wondering if the bullets are using a different typeface from the rest of WMATA&#8217;s signage:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Am I crazy, or is this a slightly different font? The <a href=\"http:\/\/wmata.com\/business\/procurement_and_contracting\/solicitations\/uploads\/Exhibit%20A.1%20Vinyl%20on%20AlumSigns_04022012.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">graphic standards<\/a> (which I stumbled across via googling for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alexblock.net\/blog\/?p=2388\" target=\"_blank\">this post<\/a>) for the Rush Plus signage changes note that the bullets use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linotype.com\/45338\/HelveticaStdBold-product.html\" target=\"_blank\">Helvetica Bold<\/a>, while the rest of the text uses <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linotype.com\/45462\/NeueHelveticaPaneuropean65Medium-product.html\" target=\"_blank\">Helvetica Medium<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We still don&#8217;t have word on a start date for WMATA&#8217;s new Silver Line service to Tysons Corner, but more and more signage for the service is appearing in the rest of the system.
