This is something different &#8211; a short film that truly encapsulates the experience of spending a day in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jacksonhole.net\/avalanche-backcountry-report.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Jackson Hole backcountry<\/a>.\u00a0 More than anything else, the use of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tilt-shift_photography\" target=\"_blank\">tilt-shift<\/a> photography and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Miniature_faking\" target=\"_blank\">miniature faking<\/a> gives the mountain a sense of scale that no film I&#8217;ve seen has successfully recreated.\u00a0 The sense of being alone along a ridge, a small person amidst a huge landscape is one of my favorite feelings about skiing.\u00a0 The fact that this film is set in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jackson_Hole\" target=\"_blank\">Jackson<\/a> &#8211; my favorite place to ski by far, a place I&#8217;ve visited many times over the years &#8211; only makes it that much more enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>As the artist&#8217;s (Tristan Greszko) instructions read, let the movie load in HD, put it on full screen and sit back for the ride.\u00a0 It&#8217;s almost like you were there for the tram ride to the summit.\u00a0 As it is, I&#8217;m just glad I was able to make a trip to Wyoming earlier this season to take part in the record <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/action\/freeskiing\/news\/story?id=6287587\" target=\"_blank\">557 inches of snow<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Tiny Day in the Jackson Hole Backcountry &#8211; by Tristan Greszko.
